I Would Rather Have Another Baby

We have moved and the things we have unpacked are finally outnumbered by the items still in boxes.  I am still, however, trying to locate some extra bathtowels, and cannot seem to find them yet…

The process of moving was the most difficult thing I have ever experienced.  Yes, really, The Most Difficult Thing I Have Ever Experienced.  That includes having TWO BABIES NATURALLY.  WITHOUT ANY DRUGS.

A hint as to why this was worse than natural childbirth: Two kids, a heat wave, contractors and construction ongoing during the day, a broken vacuum cleaner and a rising urgency in packing up the entire house, ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

To commemorate my utter disdain for moving, I wrote a few haikus and a rhyme.  You can find them here, on the Kung Sister blog.  The miserable part of this all is that I KNOW we will eventually move again (because we will not finish our lives here at the parsonage, I am sure).  Is it ridiculous to feel dread for an event that is in the undetermined future?

Despite all of the angst that The Move provided for the adults in the house, Evie LOVED moving.  She believes we moved because our house was "broken" and we needed a house that wasn't broken.  On the day of the move, she was around to see the moving truck pull up, and see a few things get loaded, but then off to a friend's house for the whole day!  Here are some pictures.

Sidewalk view.
Notice Evie sitting serenely in her red chair on the sidewalk, surrounded by her toys and such.

Closer view of Evie, in case you could not locate her in the piles of our worldly crap.

Three truckloads later, all of our stuff was moved in by the end of the day.  More than two weeks later, we are mostly unpacked.

There really isn't anything positive to say about moving, so I will stop.

However, Something positive: Pictures of our new digs to come!
